Women's Bible Classes
Meets on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. September - April. There are two classes—one for young moms and one for everyone else—empty nesters, grandmas and great-grandmas. Baby sitting is provided. These classes meet in the church's nursery wing. Often, women's classes are provided on Wednesday nights. Contact Gayle Cohen at 870-935-9233 for more information.
Teddy Bear Ministry
They craft stuffed bears to give to children in our local emergency rooms and hospitals. This ministry has brought comfort to many hurting kids throughout the program's existence. Contact Orva Dee Peachy or Betty Phillips at 870-974-1025 for more information.
These women provide a meal for the bereaved family when a funeral occurs at Southwest. Volunteer women serve the meal and offer hospitality to the family after the service. Dee Kernodle heads this program and has secured many volunteers to provide this service. Contact Dee Kernodle at 870-931-0211 for more information.
Retreats provide a wonderful opportunity for Southwest's women to get away to grow closer to God and to each other. Retreats are held every year or two at different venues. Costs are kept as low as possible.
Heart to Home Ministry
This mentoring program has the Heart Moms, older women, who have the Heart Sisters, the younger women, in their homes once a month for a meal and a lesson, using the Heart to Home curriculum. We are in the process of setting up training for the mentoring moms. This women's ministry team is extremely excited about this new program and the opportunities it will provide for the older women to teach the younger women.
